Hellen Maina

As Global Head of HR, Hellen leads the people strategy across Bopinc's international operations, driving strategic HR leadership that aligns with our mission of creating sustainable business ecosystems in emerging markets. She champions positive, inclusive, and high-performing teams while managing the complexities of global talent acquisition, international compliance, and cross-cultural integration across our operations.

Hellen brings 17 years' experience in strategic people management across banking, tech, agriculture, health, and renewable energy sectors. Prior to joining Bopinc, she was the Head of People - Africa at Sistema.bio, she led People strategy and People operations across multiple African markets. Prior to that she built HR functions from the ground up at start-up organizations like Andela, improved systems in growing organisations like One Acre Fund, and also driving transformational projects at Penda Health.

Hellen studied Economics & Sociology for her undergraduate degree, followed by an MBA in International Business and a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship. She's also a certified Senior HR Professional (SPHRi and SHRM-SCP).
