Luis Artavia supports the design and delivery of behaviourally informed solutions for inclusive and sustainable markets, working at the intersection of development economics, behavioral science, and impact evaluation. At Bopinc, he advances evidence-based innovation, enhances scientific rigour, and strengthens the dissemination of applied insights to academic and professional audiences.

He brings over 12 years of global experience across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States, working with UN agencies, governments, the private sector, and academia. His work has focused on applying behavioral insights to areas such as circular economy, health systems, and financial inclusion in low income contexts.

Luis holds a PhD in Development Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, with specializations in behavioural science and impact evaluation. He previously served as Managing Director of the Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and is co editor of the award winning 2024 book Behavioral Science for Development.

Luis is particularly interested in developing solutions that advance sustainability, the silver economy, healthy behaviors, and innovative systems in developing countries, inspired by his entrepreneurial roots in Costa Rica and his experience working closely with underserved communities worldwide.
