Policies
Bopinc is an ethically responsible organisation, guided by a clear purpose and set of values. To steer the delivery of our work, including the integrity of our actions, we have rigorous policies and protocols in place. A selection of which we share with you below.
Privacy policy
We are always careful in how we access and manage private information.
Personal data collected by Bopinc will only be used according to the purpose with which you have left them. The data left behind will be treated confidentially. The personal data will only be released with your explicit consent. We do not offer you unsolicited information and/or services. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties unless we are required to do so by law. At any time you can request to change, view or delete your personal data.
What is personal data?
Personal data is information that can be traced back to a person. Examples are names or home addresses, but email addresses may also be considered personal data.
Capturing and processing data
Under the European GDPR law (GDPR=“General Data Protection Regulation”) we are obliged to request explicit permission before storing and using your data. Anywhere where you will fill out your personal details online, it is stated exactly for what purposes the data will used and for how long we will store your data. Bopinc guarantees that your data will no be used for other purposes than we have informed you about.
Personal data is not stored longer than necessary for the purpose for which the data was requested or after the legal storage period has ended. After which the data will be deleted. If you want to view, correct or delete your data at any time, you can submit a request to us by sending an e-mail to info@bopinc.org. In case of unsubscribing to communication materials like newsletters, event invites, etc., please use the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the text (see Email newsletter).
We cannot guarantee that partners or third parties who are mentioned and whose links are included on our website(s), also comply with the privacy legislation. We are not responsible for this.
Contacting us through email
When you send someone at Bopinc an email you provide that person with your name, email address and any other personal details you decided to include in your email signature. At Bopinc we only use that data specifically to return your email or to be able to contact you (either through email, mail or telephone number). We remain the right to forward your details within Bopinc, if we believe someone else is better suited to respond to an inquiry. However, we will not share your details with people outside of our organisation (third parties) nor will we use it for any other purpose.
Email newsletter
If you choose to join our email newsletter, the email address you submit to us in Google Survey will be collected in our central CRM database (CRM=“Customer Relationship Management”) and forwarded to MailChimp who provide us with email marketing services. We consider MailChimp to be a third party data processor.
The data you have provided us with in the survey will remain within MailChimp’s and our CRM database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the lists. When you wish to change or delete your personal details from one list, the other will automatically be updated as well. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you. While your email address remains within our CRM system and MailChimp database, you may receive newsletter-style emails and invitations for our events from us.
